Woof Jumping

If you follow this simple rule your Woof will learn to ask you for attention and greet you without jumping. Following the rule is hard as you and everyone around you need to be 100% in agreement. Here it is: Never pet your Woof unless they are sitting. When they approach you say no jump and step toward them to back them away. Keep your hands high away from any contact. Turn your body quickly to the side if they still begin to jump. If they are standing near you and you wish to love on your Woof, start to pet them and gently push the rear at the same time. Your Woof will begin to associate touching with sitting. Praise and love on your Woof as long as they are sitting but stop as soon as they begin to stand. Jumping is a way to greet you and ask for attention. We do not believe in correcting a Woof for saying hi! They can, and will, learn to ask you a different way if you follow these rules. Having a treat in your hand to get their attention when you think they might want to jump is especially useful. Keep it high and away from your body so they focus on your hand. Please see the types of treats we believe are healthy and the best for your Woof.
